HEAT

The Heat & Recovery Ritual

A restorative heat-based protocol designed to support circulation, nervous system downshifting, and physical recovery.

45–60 minutes
2–4 sessions per week for progressive benefit

Overview

Heat exposure — particularly via sauna — has an extensive body of evidence behind it. Regular sauna use has been associated with reduced cardiovascular risk, improved arterial compliance, and meaningful reductions in all-cause mortality in long-term population studies. The mechanism centres on heat shock proteins (HSPs), which are upregulated in response to thermal stress and play a direct role in cellular repair and protein quality control.

We offer both traditional Finnish sauna and infrared sauna depending on the clinic location and client preference. Infrared penetrates deeper into tissue at a lower ambient temperature, making it more accessible for those who find high heat difficult to tolerate. Traditional sauna produces a more intense surface heat response and is preferred by many for post-exercise recovery.

The Heat & Recovery Ritual is structured as a standalone recovery session or as a complement to cold or contrast work. It is particularly suited to those managing high output lifestyles, seeking nervous system regulation, or working to support long-term cardiovascular health.

Benefits

  • Heat shock protein activation supporting cellular repair
  • Improved cardiovascular function and arterial compliance
  • Deep muscular relaxation and reduced post-exercise soreness
  • Nervous system downregulation — supports better sleep
  • Enhanced circulation and lymphatic movement
  • Mood support via endorphin and growth hormone release

This Programme Includes

  • Sauna or infrared sauna session
  • Hydration guidance
  • Breath-led recovery
  • Optional glutathione or recovery IV

Ideal for

What to Expect in Clinic

Your session begins with a hydration review and brief orientation. You will enter the sauna at a temperature and duration appropriate to your experience level — typically 15–20 minutes for a first session, extending as tolerance builds. Between rounds you will have a guided cooling period with breath work to support nervous system downshift. The session closes with a structured recovery phase. Many clients report improved sleep on the evening following a heat session.
