The Cold Reset

A guided introduction to cold exposure designed to build confidence, composure, and controlled adaptation.

30–45 minutes
2–3 sessions per week to build adaptation

Overview

Cold exposure is one of the most well-researched hormetic stressors available. When the body is exposed to controlled cold — whether through a cold plunge or cryotherapy — it triggers a cascade of adaptive responses: norepinephrine rises sharply, circulation is redistributed, and brown adipose tissue is activated. With repeated exposure, the body learns to regulate these responses more efficiently.

The Cold Reset is designed for those new to cold work and for those wanting a structured, clinically guided reintroduction. Every session begins with breath preparation to ensure a calm, controlled entry, followed by supervised cold exposure at a duration and temperature appropriate to your current baseline. Recovery support is included throughout.

Frequency and progression are calibrated to your history and goals. We do not advocate for extreme or reckless cold exposure — the aim is consistent, measurable adaptation over time.

What to Expect in Clinic

Your session begins with a short breath preparation sequence to activate your parasympathetic nervous system before cold entry — this makes the experience significantly more manageable and effective. You will then enter the cold plunge or cryotherapy chamber under direct supervision, at a duration and temperature set to your current adaptation level. The session ends with a structured recovery period, during which your body re-regulates. Most clients describe a strong sense of calm and clarity in the hours following.
